Welcome to my website. Here you will find stories, reflections, and observations gathered from a life shaped by service, family, faith, and community. Through my writing, I hope to offer moments of encouragement, gentle humor, and thoughtful perspective that resonate with your own journey. I invite you to explore, reflect, and join me in celebrating the connections that bring meaning and joy to everyday life.

Born in Bluefield, West Virginia, I spent much of my youth in the Appalachian Mountains. After high school, I joined the Air Force, where I served as an Air Traffic Controller for a year in Vietnam. Following my military service and a stint with the Federal Aviation Administration, I earned three college degrees and taught Speech at Northwest University in Kirkland, Washington.
I was 20 years old when I was called up to go to Vietnam. I was dating a girl at the time whose name was Valerie. We decided to get married before I left. That was in 1968. We met in Hawaii for R&R and began our life together when I got Home. We had a wonderful life together for nearly 51 years. We raised three wonderful kids, traveled to Scotland, Ireland and the British Isles.
